Children’s Choir
Time: 9:30 a.m. Sunday
Location: Fireside room off of
the social hall
Children’s choir begins at 9:30 a.m. Children of all ages are invited to participate. Most singer participants are pre-school through middle school age. No musical skills are needed. Children do not need to know how to sing, read, or understand music. Junior high and high school youth are welcome to participate by helping younger children to follow along with the music. Some anthems are performed with the adult choir. During the 15 minute rehearsal children learn anthems that will be sung during the worship. The last Sunday of each month the children’s choir will lead the congregation in the singing of a youth hymn during the service. Two special children’s choir performances are planned for Palm Sunday and Easter.
During rehearsal, children, regardless of age, will be provided sheet music. This helps all youth feel included and also helps them become accustom to looking at a musical score. Some musical terminology is taught. If there are any questions, please feel free to call Mo Aakre at 269-7167
Children's Sunday School Opening
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: In the sanctuary
The Children’s Sunday School Opening is a mini worship service for young children. It is informal and fun. Youth learn about stewardship by giving an offering. Children take turns being the usher. Staff is always on hand with change if youth forget their offering. Sunday school favorites are sung. Birthdays are celebrated. When a child has a birthday, they are invited to bring pennies to put in the birthday bank. Parents are always welcome.
